Coffee-makers are busily brewing in American kitchens as more consumers are drinking a daily cup of coffee in 2018 than in the previous six years. According to a survey commissioned by the National Coffee Association (NCA), 64% of Americans age 18 or over indicated they had a cup of coffee the previous day in 2018. This compares with 62% in 2017 and approximates to the level last recorded in 2012. Gourmet coffee consumption stayed near 2017 levels, still popular with younger consumers, with 48% of millennials enjoying a cup the day before. The daily coffee consumption survey results are part of the NCA National Coffee Drinking Trends report shared recently at their annual conference.
