Join the Coffee Association for its last Breakfast Seminar of 2018! Breakfast seminars are FREE to attend, but registration is required by Friday, Nov. 9.

FSVP inspections started in 2017 and will continue to increase. Mr. Valenzuela will provide an overview of the recently-implemented FSVP and its program requirements. Based on completed inspections, he will share some of the inspection results and recommendations for the importing community so that they can be better prepared.

Recap: 2018 Annual Luncheon

Nearly 80 professionals from the Houston-area coffee industry joined the Coffee Association at the 2018 Annual Luncheon on October 16, 2018. Albert Scalla, Senior Vice President, Commodities Division, at INTL FCStone, flew in from Miami, Florida, to be the keynote speaker. Scalla discussed the reasons that coffee prices are at a 12-year low.

2017 Dinner Tour Guests

See a part of the Houston Ship Channel few get to experience on this unique M/V Sam Houston Dinner Tour. Unlike most tours on the M/V Sam Houston which focus on the Turning Basin, this tour leaves from the San Jacinto Battlegrounds near the Battleship Texas and passes Barbours Cut, one of the two primary container terminals in Houston. GHCA President Ricardo Arias will narrate the tour, providing insight into Port Houston’s container business and the coffee trade.

The Greater Houston Coffee Association hosted their annual ship channel tour aboard the M/V Sam Houston on April 26.  Over 40 people enjoyed an evening of coffee, food and learning about how commerce in the ship channel works.
